Home DIY Kits is an Australian business selling the gear to look after your own air conditioning, instead of paying someone two hundred dollars a head to do a job that takes about twenty minutes.
The whole thing started with a quote. Four split systems, one house, close to a thousand dollars. The work itself is a catchment bag, a spray bottle, a brush and a chemical. None of it is difficult. The only reason most people hand the job over is that nobody sells them the gear in one box, with instructions written for a person rather than a technician.
So we put it in one box.
What we actually believe
Most home maintenance is not hard, it is just unfamiliar. There is a difference. Unfamiliar is fixable with a decent set of instructions and the right kit. We write our instructions on the assumption you have never opened an aircon in your life, because most of our customers had not.
Prevention beats cleaning. A deep clean is a moment in time. Two months later the mould is coming back, because the coils are dark and damp and that is what mould does. The gel diffusers exist so the clean holds.
We would rather tell you not to buy something. If your unit is already caked, a gel pot will not save it. If you only have one split system, you do not need four pots. We say so on the product pages, which costs us money and saves us refunds.

Nearly three thousand Australian households have bought from us. Our Google rating sits at 4.9. We ship Australia-wide from Queensland, and there is a real person on the other end of the contact form.
We are not the biggest company in this category. The manufacturer of the gel has been going for twenty years and there is a DIY cleaning brand with fifteen years and a thousand reviews on us. What we have that they do not is the whole job in one place: clean it, then keep it clean, with the instructions to do both.
