Our story

Built for first-timers. By people who were one too.

We started Home DIY Kits because a $250 callout for a 20-minute aircon clean felt like a rort. Now 2,000+ Aussie homes do it themselves.

The founder note

The first time I tried to clean my aircon, I broke a fin and called a tradie anyway.

That was 2022. The callout was $245. The job took him 19 minutes. He left, and I sat on the couch wondering why nobody had just made a kit for the rest of us.

So we did. We pulled apart twelve different brand-name kits, threw out everything that wasn't strictly needed, then rebuilt one from scratch with a printed step-by-step guide and a QR code that points to a real video of a real person doing it for the first time.

Today, over 2,000 Aussie households have cleaned their own split system with our kit. Most of them are first-timers. Most of them text us afterwards saying it took less time than they thought.

If we ever stop hearing that, we'll know we got something wrong.

Made in Australia

Local hands, local materials, local accountability.

We source 87% of our components from Australian suppliers. Our cleaning solution is mixed in a Brisbane facility, our printed guides come from a family-run printer in Wetherill Park, and every kit gets hand-checked before it ships out of our Geebung warehouse. If something goes wrong, you're talking to a real person on the Sunshine Coast inside one business day.
